Film Editing- 1

I began editing my music video as all filming is complete. I began by editing in the basic shots of what I wanted without focusing on the music, I made the cuts and transitions into the next shots smooth and edited the colour of the shots to give a more 'indie' effect, to do this I added the "blue" effect and changed the colour brightness and warmth. I edited 3 shorter shots together at the beginning, 1.6 seconds, 1.1 seconds and 1.9 seconds to create a fast paced shot. At 0.7 seconds, I edited the beat changing in the song to the door slam within the frame. This took 4-5 attempts as I had to cut the shot shorter each time to achieve the correct length, the shot went from 9.3 seconds to 1.9 seconds.

I then edited the driving shots into the video, I created a different type of frame as I wanted a slower, more relaxed shot to match the change in the music and beat. I used a 3.9 second clip of a driving shot and then used a backwards clip of a steering wheel to show the motion of Luke's driving. I also sped this up by x10. Initially, I used a longer frame and did not reverse the shot, I changed my idea as the backwards motion looked more realistic and the shorter shot matched the change in tempo within the song.
