I edited 27 seconds after the previous shots to leave space for further editing of more clips, here I included the neon light sequence. I had to shorten this to 2.2 seconds instead of 4.3 so that the shot changed in time with the beat, I then edited in the same beach sequence 3 times but to create a backwards effect.
The lyrics "just us you'll find out" at 0.48 seconds plays as the clip rewinds, this shows Luke's emotion. The shot of Luke driving at 0.53 seconds is slowed down by X10, this matches the slower tempo of the song more and the elongated vowel "o" in the lyrics "it's too cold" at 0.55 seconds matches the slow motion of the driving. The shot then cuts at 1:00 on the lyrics "and now", this makes a smooth transition into the next shot. This took 2-3 attempts as I had to shorten the clip more to match the beat, it changed from 7.1 seconds, to 6.7 second to then 6.5 seconds.
